USW Local 878L Members
At 11:00 pm CDT last night (07/10/2011), our Sisters and Brothers at Local 878L in Union
City, TN, were given WARN notice and told by Goodyear that their services were no longer needed.
The company will continue to pay our members’ wages for the duration of the 60 day WARN period. Our
members at Local 878L will also receive the benefits of the best shutdown package ever negotiated
in the tire industry. Please keep President Ricky Waggoner, all of the officers and members of
Local 878L, and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Local 878L has been a very active and
proud Local Union for more than 40 years. God bless Local 878L!!!

Welcome to the official
website of the United Steel Workers Local 878L, We are the Bargaining Unit with the Goodyear Tire and
Rubber Company in Union City, Tennessee. We make Tires for Goodyear. Many new lines of tires have been first
made in Union City! We also have an Amalgamated Unit with "American Food and Vending Company" who services all
the cafeterias and break areas at the Goodyear plant in Union City, Tennessee.
